After meeting a stray puppy, a young girl decides to take him in as her new pet. However, despite how much she loves him, feeds him, and bathes him, she still can't get him to open his eyes. Luckily, the girl's uncle knows the secret of how to get the puppy to stay awake--the girl must simply say "Open your eyes, Sleepy Pendoodle! Open your eyes pup!" However, the girl has a lot of trouble remembering the phrase--will she ever be able get the pup to wake up and play?
